A Comprehensive List of Our Diagnostic Tests

Visiting an imaging center can be stressful and overwhelming, especially if you’re worried about the results. At Memorial MRI & Diagnostic Imaging Centers, we understand these fears. That’s why we want you to be as comfortable as possible during your visit.

Our goal is to provide you with quality care and accurate information. So you can get the treatment you need to feel better. To help you on your healthcare journey, we provide a full range of diagnostic tests, including:

3D Mammography

This advanced imaging test takes detailed pictures of your breasts from multiple angles. It helps with early breast cancer detection and is often recommended if you have dense breast tissue. It can also detect small tumors that might not be visible with a traditional mammogram.

This imaging test uses X-rays and a special dye to visualize your blood vessels. It helps identify blockages or abnormalities in your arteries and veins. With this test, your doctor can diagnose conditions like heart disease or stroke. Or make treatment decisions for vascular issues.

Arthrography or MRI Arthrogram

This test is a two-step process. First, a contrast dye is injected into a joint like the shoulder, knee, or hip. Then, an MRI scan provides detailed images of the joint structure and surrounding tissues. This helps your doctor diagnose tears and other problems in your joints. Or make plans for surgical and non-surgical treatments.

Breast MRI

This MRI scan provides detailed images of the breast tissue. It can evaluate abnormalities found in mammograms or assess the extent of breast cancer. By providing a clearer picture of the tumor’s size and location, your doctor can create a more accurate treatment plan.

Breast Ultrasound

This imaging test uses sound waves to create pictures of the breast tissue. It’s a non-invasive way to assess lumps or other abnormalities in your breast. Your doctor may order this test to further investigate areas of concern found in a mammogram or physical exam.

Calcium Scoring

This diagnostic test measures the amount of calcium in the coronary arteries, which can indicate the risk of heart disease. A higher calcium score may suggest a greater risk of coronary artery disease. This test helps with the early detection and management of heart health.

Carotid Ultrasound

This ultrasound checks for blockages or narrowing in the carotid arteries, which can increase the risk of stroke. It uses sound waves to create images of these arteries. The test results will help your doctor assess your stroke risk and recommend preventive measures.

Chest CT

This CT scan provides detailed images of the lungs, heart, and other chest structures. It helps diagnose conditions such as lung cancer, infections, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This diagnostic test is essential to evaluate chest-related symptoms.

CT Mandible and Maxilla Scan

This CT scan provides detailed images of the lower and upper jaw. It’s used to identify problems such as fractures, tumors, or infections. This is crucial for planning dental procedures or diagnosing jaw-related issues.

Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI)

This advanced MRI technique shows how water moves through brain tissues, which is useful for studying brain injuries or diseases. This test helps assess brain structure and function. It provides your doctor with valuable information for treatment planning.

Digital Mammography

This test captures digital images of the breast. The goal is to detect any signs of cancer or other abnormalities. It’s often used as part of routine breast cancer screening and is known for its accuracy in detecting small tumors.

Digital X-ray

This type of X-ray creates detailed images of bones and organs. It’s commonly used to diagnose fractures, infections, and other conditions. With the digital format, our radiologists can quickly process the images and share them with your doctor.

Echocardiography

This test uses sound waves to create images of the heart. It helps assess your heart’s size, structure, and function. It’s used to diagnose heart conditions like valve problems or heart failure. This diagnostic test is non-invasive and provides real-time images of your heart.

Electrocardiography (EKG)

An EKG records the electrical activity of your heart. It helps diagnose irregularities such as arrhythmias or heart attacks. This diagnostic test provides important information about the heart’s rhythm and electrical conduction.

Enterography

This CT scan provides detailed images of your intestines. It’s used to diagnose conditions like Crohn’s disease or other bowel disorders. It can also help your doctor evaluate chronic abdominal pain or other digestive symptoms.

FDG-PET Scan

This PET scan uses a radioactive tracer to highlight areas of abnormal activity in the body, such as cancerous cells. It helps your doctor diagnose cancer and monitor the effectiveness of your cancer treatment.

Please Note: Some diagnostic tests are only available at specific locations. FDG-PET is exclusively offered at our Katy location. Click here to learn more about this location.

Fluoroscopy

This is a real-time imaging test that uses X-rays to show moving body parts such as the digestive tract. Your doctor may use this diagnostic test to guide certain procedures or evaluate your body’s function.

Please Note: Some diagnostic tests are only available at specific locations. Fluoroscopy is exclusively offered at our Houston location. Click here to learn more about this location.

Head CT

This CT scan provides detailed images of the brain and skull. It helps your doctor diagnose conditions such as tumors, bleeding, or trauma. It’s commonly used in emergency settings to quickly assess head injuries.

Hepatobiliary Scan

This scan evaluates the function and health of the liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts. It helps your doctor diagnose conditions like gallstones or liver disease.

Hysterosonography

This ultrasound examines the inside of the uterus. It provides clear images of the uterine lining and cavity. With this diagnostic test, your doctor can investigate abnormal bleeding or other uterine issues.

LOCAMETZ®

This PET scan identifies cancerous cells and assesses their spread throughout the body. It helps your doctor diagnose certain types of cancer and determine the stage (or advancement) of the cancer.

Low-dose Lung CT Screening

This low-radiation CT scan provides detailed images of the lungs. It’s used to screen for early signs of lung cancer, particularly in high-risk individuals.

Lung Perfusion

This diagnostic test measures blood flow in the lungs. It provides essential information for diagnosing and treating lung conditions such as blood clots, pulmonary embolisms, or abnormal circulation.

MUGA Heart Scan

This imaging test uses radioisotopes to measure how well the heart pumps blood. It’s a non-invasive procedure that captures images of the heart chambers. It’s used to evaluate heart function, especially after treatments that may affect the heart.

Myelogram

This diagnostic test is a two-step process. First, a contrast dye is injected into the spine. Then, a CT scan or X-ray provides detailed images of the spinal cord and nerve roots. It helps your doctor diagnose spinal conditions such as herniated discs or tumors.

Myocardial Perfusion

This imaging test assesses blood flow to the heart muscle. It provides information on how well the heart is receiving blood and oxygen. It helps your doctor diagnose coronary artery disease.

OB Ultrasound
